We have been visiting Eat Street Markets for a little while and were excited to get back there with our youngest now at an age where she can also enjoy herself and crawl around and eat some of the tasty food on offer. It was our first visit to the revamped Eat Street, now known as Eat Street Northshore.
On a recent Saturday afternoon we filled the car with the kids and made our way to Hamilton on the Northside and were there by about 4.15pm. Perfect timing to drive straight in and get a park right near the entrance. When visiting with kids, I highly recommend getting there right at opening which is 4pm on Fridays and Saturdays and from 12pm o Sunday. Entry for adults is $2.50 each and kids are FREE.
We have a bit of a routine now when we arrive, we walk around looking at all the delicious food options and decide what we want. Then we find where we want to sit, this time was in front of some great live music with fake grass so the kids could run/crawl around while we sat and had something to eat and drink. Once we found a spot to fit us it was off to get food, one adult with the kiddos and one off on a food mission.
You can really stay as long as you want, its perfect for a short visit if you just want to get out of the house, eat and get back home. Or, you can sit down, relax with a drink in hand and watch the kids run around to some great live music. It’s always a good idea to check on the weather as not all areas are covered and as it’s by the river if it’s a windy day you will feel the breeze!
My husband found this yummy drink for me, it was a delicious cocktail, tasty enough I went back for a second 🙂
There are so many food options to choose from, enough to please even the fussiest eater, and by that I mean…. KIDS :).

It’s a crime to leave without visiting the Kombi lane, the kids enjoyed these tasty unicorn ice creams and you can’t go past the variety of doughnuts and more Nutella than you can poke a stick at!
If you are a fan of chocolate fondue you will want to stop by this place.
One of the outstanding elements to Eat Street Northshore is the style of each of the vendors. Some of the most creative shop fronts you will see and they are all in shipping containers or a Kombi! The gorgeous fairy lights are not to be missed as the sun goes down. There are also a number of shipping containers that you can hire out for functions, some with great views of the river and city. So be sure to get this place on your list!
